Vitamin B-12 is a water-soluble B complex vitamin found naturally in a variety of foods, including meat, fish and dairy products. This vitamin is essential for several body processes that are necessary for daily life including your immune system. You need a healthy immune system to fight off diseases and maintain a state of wellness.
There will be times when you may need to support your vitamin B12 intake, and that’s when a B12 shot can help you.
* Assists with central nervous system function
* Helps form red blood cells
* Encourages DNA production
* Maintains sharp cognitive function and elevated mood
* Heightens energy levels by assisting in metabolic function that converts food into energy
* Guards against anaemia
* Converts the homocysteine protein, which may help with cardiovascular and neurological health
You may be susceptible to a range of symptoms if you’re vitamin B12 deficient. These may include:
* Fatigue
* Impaired brain function
* Feeling weak or faint
* Numbness or a prickly feeling in your extremities
* Headache
* Mood changes
* Anxiety and Depression
* Heart palpitations
* Constipation
* Lower visual acuity
A vitamin B12 deficiency can also lead to pernicious anaemia. This is when the body can’t make red blood cells due to an inadequate supply of B12.
Having your B12 injected as opposed to diet will go straight into your bloodstream, bypassing the digestive tract, and allow for maximum and fast absorption.
Vegans and vegetarians who don’t eat animal products may include a B12 supplement in their diet. However, they need to make sure the supplement provides acceptable amounts of vitamin B12 made from high-quality ingredients.
Many of my clients are having positive results after starting their B12 Injections.
It is recommended that if you have a B12 deficiency to have an injectable once every week for 6 weeks. Then every month for three months and then one single jab every three months.
There is no reason why you cannot continue having monthly injections if you are feeling the benefit. GPs will normally give their patients B12 injections every 12 weeks, but the effects can wear off before this time. As a result, you can be left feeling sluggish and run down. The average time between a client needing another B12 injection is between 4-6 weeks.
